Meeting the Ancestors

Day Tour on the Beara Peninsula

A guided journey into the ancient landscapes and living heritage of the Beara Peninsula

What to expect on this tour:

On short and easy walks, we'll visit selected prehistoric sites and learn more about their possible significance, the people who built them, and the landscape in which they emerged. Along the way, I'll combine archaeological knowledge with local stories and personal insights from nearly 30 years of traveling in West Cork.

Uncover the stories behind Beara's stone circles, Ogham stones and sacred places.
Experience the rich heritage and myths of the Beara Peninsula and be part of a journey into the world of Ireland's earliest communities.

We'll take our coffee and lunch breaks at a typical Irish café in Glengariff and a lovely restaurant, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Beara countryside. In the afternoon, refreshments await us in the idyllic village of Eyeries.

This tour is designed for travelers interested in culture and history who want to not only see the Beara Peninsula but also understand it better. We travel in an exclusive small group of up to 6 guests, allowing plenty of room for questions, conversation, and individual discoveries.
