A Journey through Ireland's Sacred Landscape, Ancient Stories and Monastic Heritage

From the old stories to the new faith.
From the Atlantic islands to the heart of Europe.

A new, special trip to Ireland is in the works.

This journey doesn't simply begin in Ireland.

It begins where the story of an Irish monk still resonates today in Switzerland: in St. Gallen.

From there, it takes us to the other side of Europe—to Ireland's dramatic Atlantic coast, to ancient sacred landscapes, early medieval monastic sites, and in the footsteps of those Irish monks who set out more than a thousand years ago.

We encounter the world of ancient Irish stories and their fascinating connection to the Christian heritage.

We ask what happened when a new religion encountered a culture that was already deeply rooted.

And we follow the trail of the written word: How were ancient stories preserved? What changed when monks began to write them down? And how did people, knowledge, and ideas make their way from the western periphery of Europe to the heart of the continent?

In the process, Ireland itself becomes an experience:

The Atlantic and the islands.

Ancient monastic landscapes.

Myths and legends.

Stones and manuscripts.

Faith and tradition.

Solitude and community.

A journey for people who want not only to see Ireland but also to understand its stories.

And perhaps the journey will lead to yet another question:

What do we carry with us – and what do we leave behind?

The exact plan and itinerary are still being developed.
